What will follow Facebook

Facebook is a “place” where friends can find each other, share stuff, express themselves, and leave a legacy (diary, log, blog, photos, etc.).

But, there’s a part of you that’s missing in that formula, and it can’t ever be there. Facebook is a business, it exists to exploit your information and make profits from you and others. Facebook’s intention is to gather your information, package it, and sell it to others. Your soul can’t be on Facebook because it’s “Facebook” and it doesn’t belong to you, and it can’t be you, it’s just a facsimile of you, an avatar…what’s missing is your soul, your true self, your depth of expressiveness, your inner-being, your personal art-form, some would call it your Aura. The sort of friendship on Facebook must follow rules, and your information isn’t really owned by you.

In order to expose yourself (or not), bare your soul, a site has to be yours and all yours, literally “all about you.” You can allow links or not, include “ads,” references to others, others’ preferences, fetishes, or, just plain nothing…but the rules at your site are yours, not someone else’s. Individual “Facebooks” (I call them: Moi’s) will be the future. But you could say, “Well, we’ve always had the ability to make our own sites; in fact, it’s been done many, many times before, it’s a thing of the past.” No, it’s always been available…but not like now, since Facebook, we’ve seen the way. We now know how to make a page, and how to construct a site, and to make it our own. That is the future of the Internet.

Mark my words…Facebook will eventually shrink and die, it lacks soul, Aura; it must be replaced by Moi’s.
